Come one, come all!
Interested in playing roller derby? Want to see what you’re made of and discover whether this is the sport for you? Sign up for our Freshmeat program and you can do just that.
We have 4 intake dates planned for 2018, where we explain how roller derby works, fit you for any gear you need to borrow, and let you try your hand at some skating skills. Freshie training runs on Sundays from 4-5.30pm, however we ask that you come down at 3.30 on intake day so that we can sort out your gear and paperwork.
There’s no need to be a master skater to start out with us: our coaches will train you up from the basics all the way to the top, at your own pace. So don’t be scared to join.
Skate Victoria insurance (one off, lasts for calendar year) $35
$80 for 10 weeks of sessions
$40 if you need to hire skates
Bring yourself in fitted, comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes (there will be occasional off skates components), a full drink bottle and any skating gear that you own.
Safety gear consists of knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards and helmets which are all available for borrowing. A mouth guard is also required, which you can't borrow (because eww!) but you can buy from us for $40.
If you have your own skates, please bring them. If you need to borrow some, please state your shoe size on the registration form so we can confirm what is available.
